Acting IGP, be a difference maker | The Guardian Nigeria Newspaper - Nigeria and World News

Sir: The allegiance of any Inspector General of Police is to the President that appointed him or her. Put bluntly, the allegiance of most northern Nigerian elite is to their caliphate leadership not to Nigerian state. Most of the optimism expressed here by The Guardian in this Editorial are just wishful thinking. We have read that the acting IGP is experienced but I don’t understand the culture of picking a younger officer to lead and retiring other senior experienced ones? To me, it is a waste of human resources for an organisation that needs process engineering.
